Melting Point:

1. In a round plate of aluminum foil, draw an“X” shape on it. Label the wedges 1, 2, 3 and 4.

2. Place a sample of each substance in the appropriate area of your foil.

3. Carefully place the foil on the ring above the burner and turn it on.

4. After a few minutes, observe each section and record on a chart, which substances melted and what time it took.
